TWL is a mobile zine library and community publishing resource that travels to events locations to showcase D.I.Y alternative independent zines and handmade publications as well as facilitating zine making through workshops.
Launched in August 2024, the aim of the library is to create a platform for showcasing the amazing DIY publishing community without the need for a bricks and mortar building. The library wanders from place to place allowing people to experience zines outside of the established reading setting.
It acts as a space for conversation discovery and creating, sparking project ideas and encouraging authorships, play and collaborations.
The Wanderin' Library is a growing archive of zines and micro-edition books mostly stemming from Liverpool nd the North West Uk but with a view to expand this catalogue. Many zines in the archive have been made in collaboration with community groups or by individuals with a vision, art, or story to tell.
That's what makes zines are a unique and special tool for sharing ideas, knowledge and personal stories. Zines are becoming a growing tool for research and connecting people, that's why we believe they should be shared without barriers.

In Spring 2024 we hosted a weekly 2 hour workshop with women attending the charity hub Tomorrow's Women in Birkenhead.
Working around the themes of self care and mental health participants each designed their own zine with unique perspectives, exploring though playing with image making techniques.
